Lacasse, Joseph

Joseph Lacasse was born in Tournai in 1894. He attended the academies of Tournai and Brussels. Before the war, he went to Italy and Paris and turned to the abstract genre. He had many exhibitions in various European countries. Lacasse also took part in the “Biennale” of Sâo Paulo and had a solo exhibition in New York. He always tried to incorporate the indefinable beauty of light in his work. Lacasse died in Paris in 1975.
