Jo Delahaut was born in Liège in 1911. He attended the Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Liège. She later gained a degree in archaeology and art history. His first abstract work was created in 1944. Delahaut also took part in the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles annually and co-founded the Belgian group Art Abstrait in 1952. Was on friendly terms with Mondrian. Eventually, he opted for geometric-abstract works. Delahaut made vivid use of colour. Later he made reliefs. Jo Delahaut died in Schaarbeek in the Netherlands in 1992.
