Wim Motz was born in Rotterdam. At the of 37 years, he began painting and it was in 1946 he made his artistic debut. As a painter he was self-taught. He was a very prolific artist, who had successful exhibitions in USA, Canada, Switzerland and Belgium. His late work is abstract, colorful and usually with the palette knife. He used a lot of color. His work is a part of the Dutch National Collection.
